Mark Anthony Blair is a seasoned industrial automation expert and educator in the Detroit area with over 41 years of hands-on experience in PLCs, VFDs, and related technologies. Raised in a housing project on government assistance, he built resilience and a strong work ethic that fueled his success.
After 10 years in the U.S. military maintaining avionics on helicopters like the Huey, Blackhawk, and Apache across the U.S. and overseas, he earned degrees in General Studies and Adult Education.
He later worked as an Industrial Controls Technician at the Toledo Jeep plant before becoming a community college instructor — teaching practical PLC programming, VFD configuration, motor controls, and automation systems, often with SACA certifications — while inspiring students with his journey from hardship to technical mastery.
